Warning to stay off the ice

We're urged to stay off the ice at three lakes. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says fluctuating tempertures are causing thin ice at Coralville Lake, Saylorville Lake and Lake Red Rock. Conditions are extremely dangerous and unsafe for winter activities, according to officials. We'll probably have to stay off the ice for the rest of the winter. The rising and falling temperatures can cause ice to rot. Rotten ice may look solid and measure thick but it is weak and easily gives way.
