Ice chunks break up and flow down river, cause flooding concerns

With temperatures up substantially yesterday, huge chunks of ice rushed down Iowa rivers and streams. The Raccoon River jumped almost 10 feet in an hour in fact, and several gathered along the bank to watch it. Starr Hinrichs talked with our news partners at KCCI.

Some ice jams were reported in the Van Meter area and also farther downstream in Des Moines as chunks of ice and tree limbs clogged the flow. Some locations that could experience flooding include Des Moines, Pleasant Hill and West Des Moines.
