ALCU exhibit criticized, new law could be a result

Some lawmakers aren't happy with the recent exhibit at the State Historical Building on the history of the American Civil Liberties Union and its role in racial justice, women's equality, gay rights and reproductive freedom. They have proposed legislation that would force the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs, the museum's parent agency, to give equal treatment to opposing viewpoints or lose state money.
