Des Moines is a step closer to having its first unleashed dog park. There are three possible locations: Ewing Park (Indianola Road and McKinley Avenue), Tower Park (50th and Hickman Avenue) and at the north end of West Riverside Drive. Don Tripp, Des Moines Park and Recreation Director, told our news partners at KCCI that there are 15,000 registered dogs in Des Moines and a high demand for a place to take them to play. There will be an informational meeting on plans for the dog park at the Jackson Elementary School Gymnasium March 3 from 6:30-8 PM.
