Iowa Gets New Market Tax Credits

Iowa Community Development's been awarded $35 million in federal New Market Tax Credits to attract businesses to low income census tracts statewide. The Des Moines Register reports these credits have been used in the past to bring IBM to Dubuque where it created 1,300 new jobs and an annual payroll of nearly $60 million, finance a call center for Delta in Sioux City, which created 335, and other projects in Des Moines and Davenport. Groups with proposals for using the credits should contact either Dan Robeson or Jim DePauw at Iowa Business Growth at 515-223-4511.
