Branstad Proposes Non Union Worker Raises

Non-union state employees would receive the same pay raises as unionized workers under a proposal from Gov. Branstad.
Democrats criticized the plan, saying this means raises will also go to some of the governor’s political appointees. Branstad and his staff criticized outgoing Gov. Culver in December for agreeing to wage increases for state union employees soon before leaving office, calling the deal “reckless.” Union workers will over the next 2 budget years get raises totaling 6.13%.
