The Greater Des Moines Public Art Foundation recently awarded $20,000 to the 6th Avenue Corridor group. The funds will support the integration of art in the streetscape improvement planning process. The new streetscape will have new pedestrian safety features, aesthetic improvements and sustainability concepts. It's part of an overall concept to make pedestrian friendly businesses and provide an economic boost.
