Iowa Government Shutdown Contingency Plan

With a shutdown of Iowa government looking more likely, the state president of Council 16 of AFSCME's sent a letter to Gov. Branstad asking for details on the so-called government shutdown contingency plan. Branstad declined comment on it during a news conference today. He did tell the Des Moines Register a contingency plan for a shutdown exists, and the director of the state's Department of Management would only add essential services would continue if there's a shutdown.
