Job searches take awhile

It's taking awhile for the unemployed in Iowa to find a job. Last year, 34,000 Iowans spent six months or more looking for work, a 55 percent increase over 2009. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics also says the number of Iowans searching for a job 52 weeks or longer has more than doubled to 19,000. Some analysts say hiring has picked up, but the lengthy job searches may continue for another five years.
