The Des Moines City Council is expected to hear a proposal tonight to rename the Highway 65/5 bypass around the metro.
KCCI reports the plan calls for asking the Iowa Transportation Department to rename U.S. Highway 65 and Iowa Highway 5 around the metro to I-335. Supporters say the name change would mean more viability for the roadway and would spur more economic development.
