Corn and Soybean Planting

State officials say Iowa farmers have met or surpassed last year's quick pace of planting corn and soybeans, but now the state needs some warm and dry weather. The weekly crop report out yesterday shows 98% of the corn crop has been planted, which matches last year. KCCI reports soybean plantings 78% and ahead of last years 72% at the same time last year. State Agriculture Secretary Bill Northey says the state needs some warm and dry weather to help the crops grow.
