A medical clinic opening next month in West Des Moines wants to decrease the more than 6,000 abortions performed in Iowa annually. Informed Choices Medical Clinic will expand a statewide niche of medical clinics that offer a range of women's health services, but not abortions or contraceptives. They'll offer pregnancy testing, sexually transmitted disease testing and treatment, and beginning prenatal care. The clinic will also teach how abortions work and offer family planning services.
