State lawmakers sending through fewer bills

Statistics from the nonpartisan Legislative Services Agency show this legislative session is on its way to approving the fewest bills in more than two decades. Through Tuesday, 118 bills had passed both the House and Senate and gone to Gov. Terry Branstad for consideration. That's the smallest number of bills sent to a governor in any single session dating to at least 1989, the furthest back the agency has tallied statistics. The average is 197 over the last ten years.
