A judge has promised a decision by June 28th on whether Santos Rodriguez is competent to stand trial. He's charged in a 2009 hit & run in Des Moines that killed Bruce Mundy. According to KCCI, a medical expert testified today that Rodriguez suffered permanent brain injury from gunshots in a 1999 shootout with police, and he shouldn't have been driving because he's completely incompetent. Mundy's family says if he can't stand trial he should be institutionalized for life.
