Iowa Guard Solider Wounded

An Iowa Army National Guard soldier's been wounded on a combat mission in Afghanistan. 19-year-old Pvt. Alexander Meyer, of Ainsworth, was wounded by small arms fire on May 15. He's been airlifted to a hospital in Germany and eventually returned stateside. A guard spokesperson says Meyer's wounds are not considered life threatening. Meyer's a member of Waterloo's Company A, 1st Battalion, 133rd Infantry with 2nd Brigade Combat Team of the 34th Infantry Division.
