No ICE for Downtown Des Moines

A downtown Des Moines site's off the list of potential homes for a new federal immigration enforcement center. The Des Moines Register reports the property's owner's notified the city it won't be asking for a special use permit to allow ICE to set up shop. ICE wants a new location in Des Moines or one of 11 surrounding communities by October.
