Iowa Could Face Problems over Planned AEA Cuts

Iowa could violate federal rules that regulate state spending on special education due to millions of dollars in proposed cuts to the Area Education Agencies. The Senate last week passed a plan that cuts $10 million to Iowa’s Area Education Agencies, the key group that helps school provide services to children in special education programs. House republicans today passed a bill cutting $20-million from AEA's.
