Police say the crimes have been unrelated - a couple followed and beaten, a home invasion robbery that resulted in a pistol whipping - Des Moines police have made 11 arrests and ten of them have been juveniles. Serious junvenile crimes have declined nationally and in Iowa, and local detectives say this spike is atypical for Des Moines. All five youths arrested for the home invasion will face charges in adult court.
