Neiderbach Defense Expert Testifies

As expected, defense attorneys in the Jonas Neiderbach trial spent much of yesterday questioning a hired expert who said the injuries caused to 6-week old Ethan Neiderbach were not caused by child abuse. Two more doctors are expected this week to challenge prosecution witness assertions that Ethan suffered devastating injuries at the hands of his father. The clinical neurosurgeon from Washington DC testified Ethan had a brain injury at birth, and the side effects from that were still showing at the time of his death. He called the brain injury inconsistent with shaken-baby syndrome, because there were no signs of trauma to Ethan's spinal cord.
