A small plane has crashed near the Newton airport. Police said the pilot reported strong winds at takeoff. The wind pushed the small plane off the runway and into a tree. Officers didn't immediately identify the pilot, but said his teenage son was in the passenger seat. KKCI reports no one was injured.
