You may notice a change as you hit the road this weekend. The Iowa Department of Transportation has launched a yearlong pilot project at rest stops near Ankeny, Mitchellville, Story City and Waukee, that allows motorists to dump material to be recycled. You'll be able to drop off cans, plastic, and glass. Officials also aim to raise awareness about recycling and reduce litter on state highways.
