Suspect Shot at End of Crime Spree

A robbery that became a carjacking, ended with a collision, and a suspect being shot multiple times. Police say 27 year old Robin Brooks of Des Moines has been charged with attempted murder, robbery and theft. It all started at the Tradesmen Community Credit Union at around 12:30 Friday afternoon.

Police say Brooks walked into the bank and told a teller that he had a gun and wanted money. Police say he left on foot. They caught up with him after he'd carjacked a white van from a nearby apartment complex. Police say Brooks then led police on a brief chase before he rammed a police cruiser. Soon after shots were fired by the Des Moines Police, hitting Brooks twice, once in the arm and once in the side.
