Alcoa Expanding

Alcoa and Gov. Branstad announced plans for a $300-million expansion of their Davenport plant that'll create 150-new jobs. The plant makes aluminum automotive products which are in demand with Detroit making more fuel efficient machines, and demand for those parts is expected to double by 2013. KCCI reports the expansion, which is being supported by state tax, financing., R and D credits and training grants, should be done by the end of 2013.
