Flags At Half Staff

Governor Terry Branstad has ordered U.S. and Iowa flags to be lowered in honor of Iowa service members who have lost their lives since the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2011. Flags on state buildings will be lowered this afternoon and not raised again until 8 a.m. Monday. The tattered 9/11 Flag that was mended by tornado victims in Greensburg, Kansas and toured all 50 states, including Iowa, will end its journey Th Joplin, where tornado victims there will put the final stitches in. Those who have seen it, say it shows the resilience of the country.
