Marshalltown Meat Theft

Police in Marshalltown say thieves stole a semi filled with over 42,000 pounds of meat over the weekend. The driver had left the rig parked in a lot Saturday near the intersection of Highways 30 and 14. When he came back to pick up the trailer on Monday, it was gone. The trailer belongs to Mid-Continent Trucking of Denison. Police say theft had to have been done by someone who knows semi's and the locking system they use. KCCI reports the trailer's valued at $45,000 and the meat another $100,000.
