West Des Moines running a scrap appliance and metal drop off for residents September 17th at the public works facility. The hours are 8a.m. to noon. Among the items The Des Moines Register reports that can be disposed of free: water heaters, stoves, microwaves, VCRs, DVRs, printers, copiers, washers, dryers, furnaces, backyard grills, and exercise equipment.
