The Iowa Economic Development board's decided to give $250,000 over three years to Startup City Des Moines, an incubator that hopes to hatch promising technology companies. The Capital Crossroads vision plan, a major five-year strategy released this month aimed at boosting the metro area’s economic vitality and quality of life, mentions Startup City as a possible cog in a “conveyor belt” that would guide technology entrepreneurs through all phases of the launch and growth of their companies.
