20 Arrested at Occupy Iowa

The youngest protester to be arrested last night during the Occupy Iowa event was in the eighth grade. Police hauled away some 30 protesters, charging them with trespassing. That's because the Iowa Statehouse closed at 11 p.m. and they refused to leave. Like the Occupy protests across the country, they were speaking out against the corporate greed that they say has done in the economy. The protesters were warned that they needed to leave since they didn't have a permit to camp on the state's property, and then, the arrests started. Each arrestee was fined 300 dollars.
