Reward offered in animal cruelty case

A group of photographers taking pictures at the Des Moines River last month spotted a dog struggling to get out of the currents. The dog was rescued, and veteranarians later learned the dog had been shot and was paralyzed. Animal rights groups are offering a $3000 reward for information leading to the person behind it. The Animal Rescue League has received hundreds of calls from folks interested in adopting the mastiff.
