Lawmakers had a public hearing today about banning traffic speeding and red light cameras in Iowa. KCCI reports critics call the cameras as cash cows for cities, camera vendors and their investors. Goldman Sachs owns 30% of one of the traffic systems. Police say the cameras save lives, and change driving behavior. The current bill didn't get out of committee, with lawmakers saying they want more information on the cameras use instead of an complete ban.
