Des Moines City Council's expected to give a green light today to a new hotel in downtown. The plan before them would put a 129-room Hampton Inn along the Des Moines River south of Court Avenue, and includes a 238-space garage and a second extended stay hotel. KCCI reports the $32-million project calls for two hotels, the Hampton Inn, and an extended stay hotel.
