Police were searching the Des Moines River banks near Southeast 22nd Street and Hartford Avenue this morning for a couple of suspects wanted on warrants for burglary or theft. Police started looking for 31 year old Jamie Johnson and 29 year old Troy Collins last night. The Des Moines Register reports that they found an SUV they were believed to be riding in and followed it from an apartment complex in the two thousand block of Southeast King Avenue to near the river. They have not found the two despite following footprints until early this morning.
