State Senate Ways and Means Chair Gives Gov a Choice

The Chair of the State Senate's Ways and Means Committee says they won't be signing off on any tax cuts, until Gov. Branstad signs legislation to expand a tax credit benefiting lower-income families. Democrat Joe Bolkom says it would help working families making under $45-grand/year and stimulate the economy. Branstad, a republican, vetoed the plan twice last year, saying it should be part of a discussion on taxes in general.
