MidAmerican Energy Holdings of Des Moines is buying the 81-megawatt Bishop Hill II wind project near Peoria, Ill., from Invenergy Wind. The Des Moines Register reports the project should be on line in the fourth quarter of this year. MidAmerican, the state's largest electric and gas company's already bought or built 3,300 plus megawatts of wind generation, and invested over $6-billion in wind projects here and in Wyoming, Washington and Oregon.
