It's illegal to cut down a tree with a bald eagle's nest in it, and a southeast Iowa man found that out the hard way. US Wildlife officials report that they fined Orvin Yoder of Bonaparte 25 hundred dollars for disturbing the bird's nest. Yoder was cutting down a tree along the Des Moines River near Keokuk last fall.
