Gov. Branstad's expected to take the wraps of how Iowa's DOT's found $50-million in savings in the Road Use Tax Fund. The Governor's supposed to release the details in a speech at a Transportation Day event. Iowa DOT was asked to find the savings to free up more cash for state, county, and city road projects so there's be no need to raise the gas tax. The Des Moines Register reports the fund gets over a billion a year.
