Polk County's supervisors have started talking about a plan that would lead to asking voters for $83-million in a bond referendum. The Des Moines Register reports there's been talk of turning the downtown jail into a criminal courts annex; renovating the existing courthouse for civil trials, probate and family court: and making the convention complex the home of traffic, juvenile and small claims court and the county attorney's office.
