As an incentive for new construction, Polk County Commissioners extended their impact fee moratorium last year. The Lakeland Ledger's reporting the Polk City Council's given an initial approval to extend that moratorium for another year. Their proposal, if given final approval, would extend the moratorium on municipal impact fees for police, fire, recreation and general government from Oct. 1, when the initial one-year moratorium expired, to Sept. 30.
