Branstad Unemployment Office Shutdown Challenger to State Supreme Court

The Iowa Supreme Court's set February 21st to hear oral arguments in the lawsuit over Gov. Branstad's line item veto of a bill that shut down 36 unemployment offices statewide. The suit was brought by AFSCME, and 6-state lawmakers last August, claims a governor can't move money removed from the budget in a line item veto somewhere else. A Polk County judge ruled the veto unconstitutional in December.
