A man was badly hurt last night when his car plowed into a train at a Des Moines intersection. KCCI-TV reports the crash happened at East 34th and Laurel Hill Road. At least one person was in the car. Des Moines police Sgt. Jeff Edwards said the car smashed through the crossing arms and hit the stopped train. Edwards called the crash "pretty bad" and said no skid marks were noticed at the scene. The man was taken away by ambulance. His name and condition are not yet available.
