Seat belts a factor in fatal crashes

Seventy six percent of the fatal car accidents in Iowa last month involved motorists who weren't wearing seat belts. Statistics from the past five years were relatively steady at 32 percent prior to last year's 76. State officials said 9 out of 10 in Iowa do use seat belts, but the lack of them is a big factor in fatal crashes.
