Gov. Branstad's 4-year-old granddaughter attends preschool through a state-support program that the Governor wants to cut, saying it should only be for low-income families who can't afford the classes. The Des Moines Register says Eric Branstad, works for Iowans for Tax Relief, a Republican-leaning nonprofit that lobbies for fewer taxes. He's taken no public position on preschool, and the governor's office declined comment.
