As of Sunday, Des Moines' south side will have a direct link, by bus, to Altoona. According to the Des Moines Register, The Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority's existing Route 7, which serves the south and east sides of Des Moines, will be extended from East 29th Street in Des Moines to the Walmart in Altoona as part of service changes that go into effect this weekend.
