Punxsutawney Phil said yesterday on Groundhog Day that an early spring is in store. Iowa, meanwhile is just shy of its fifth winter in a row with above-average snowfall. Some snowfall totals in Iowa this week reached 18 and a half inches. Des Moines was in the 6 to 8 inch range. Punxsutawney Phill by the way, is right about his predictions 39 percent of the time.
