Lawmaker Proposes Ending Straight Party Line Voting Option

A GOP State Senator's introduced a bill this morning that would end your option of voting a straight party ticket. Mark Chlegren of Ottumwa's bill would remove the option of voting by marking one place on a ballot to select all candidates of a single political party. Chelgren tells the Des Moines Register “Straight-party voting is a lazy way of voting, Voters should be responsible for educating themselves on who the candidates are and not just which party they’re with.”
