The driver of the car that clipped and injured an 81-year-old Warren County woman last month has come forward. 19-year old Brendan Appel didn't realize he'd hit her. Appel reportedly came forward as soon as an article in The Des Moines Register made him realize he might have been involved. He will not be charged. The Iowa State Patrol admits it could not have solved the case if Appel had not spoken up.
