New Kids Hospital For U of I

The Iowa Board of Regents approved plans for a new $271 million children's hospital at the University of Iowa. The vote today was unanimous, for the 11-story project, paid for through hospital revenues, borrowing and a $50-million fundraising campaign. UI says the hospital will consolidate medical treatment for children, which is currently scattered throughout several buildings on the hospital campus. Construction will begin sometime next year and be completed in 2014.
