Blizzard-like conditions are hitting the metro as well as counties to the south and east, making driving difficult. The Iowa Transportation Department says conditions on th roads will be dangerous for the next 36-years or so, with Heavy snow in some parts of the state combined with strong winds are affecting visibility and road conditions. DOT tells WHO TV says most roads are partially or completely covered in ice and snow.
