Today's Blue Shirt Day, a nationwide effort to prevent bullying. KCCI reports students were encouraged to wear blue, and teachers spent part of their day educating students about bullying and ways to stop it whether they're a victim, a bystander or the one bullying someone. With so many kids using social media, the West Des Moines Community Education has an Internet safety discussion Oct. 18.
