Iowa dealers are reporting better new car sales during 2010. There were a series of recalls by Toyota, and a 4-week sales shutdown, but Iowa dealers recovered and finished the year strong. Karl Chevrolet in Des Moines had the most new vehicles sold and registered in Iowa in 2010, according to data from RegTrak, a Wisconsin auto registration tracking company. 2007 was a peak year for new car sales across the state. There was a big dip in 2009, and 2010 shows recovery.
